Look what’s on tv! It’s politicians blaming each other again (revised)

I wrote my articles to VICE audiences and tried using some sarcasm and pictures to connect with the younger audience. I tried to add ideas and thoughts I thought a younger audience would think and like. There are different headings for the ideas I split up. I made sure to provide substantial evidence that my target audience would find appealing. I also used pathos, ethos and logos throughout my entire article.

Look what’s on tv! It’s politicians blaming each other again

Political party violence has always been in the background of every citizen of the U.S Whether it’s one generation yelling at another or a political uprising that affects the white house entirely. However, who’s saying one generation is the cause of it all?

I still remember the day I was on summer vacation. I was in our beach house with the sea breeze blowing my hair on our balcony. I was about to go downstairs to ride my bike to the boardwalk until my dad had stopped me. “Where are you going?”

My dad had asked,

“I’m going to the boardwalk. Why?”

I replied, pulling up my mask because of COVID precautions. My dad shook his head at me and stated,

“You shouldn’t go out with your mask. Some kid on the news had gotten spat on because of wearing one”

While not violence entirely, the fact scared me. Some grown adult would spit on a kid because they want to keep you safe? What would this mean if I was wearing some electoral candidate shirt?

What’s  causing these children-like outbursts?

The root of the problem, however, cannot be one person or one generation. It’s built up by years and years of fighting until one generation just had enough of it all. Us.

While all of this fighting between electoral candidates may make each side blame the other, this constant blaming, shockingly, isn’t the truth. A lot of the problem is the pointing fingers towards one another which really doesn't solve anything. This childlike behavior doesn’t do anything in the long run just leads to more corruption and those with the same blame to side with the one pointing their finger.

According to a peer-reviewed article in discovery, “segregational politics- continues to rely on a re- telling of a nation's past in order to perpetuate fear of a current unknown and unwanted” meaning that this fear some citizens are stricken with affects political elections. Politicians want to strike fear into their voters in order to get them on their side. That’s where all the fighting comes in.

For example, After President Trump was not elected for another term he struck fear into his and other voters the ballots were rigged. This whole technique was to get American citizens, republicans and democrats, on his side because of possible incidents that could have occurred. Voters feeling as if their votes may not be secure may decide to not vote in the future because of this corrupt new politician.

A lot of younger voters may not secure their ballot for the fear of it being turned against them. Who’d want to vote for the candidate they hate?

Americans don’t want to be Americans!

According to guardian.com, “America increasingly is entering a state where its citizens don’t want to belong to the same country,” meaning political party violence is causing the great American Dream to fall. The dream everyone talks about in schools and families about America being the dream for everyone across the world, riches will come, etc. It's a dream that’s supposed to mean “everything’s great in America, Nothing ever goes wrong!” However, political party violence is clearly altering this look on Americans. Although It’s not as bad as what other countries may be struggling with, it's still a strong political climate. You must be careful in America who you side with because you can get attacked either direction.

Sometimes even those you may think your allies may participate in this corrupt politics. During the January 6th Capitol attack, numerous American citizens were arrested. Including some teens, according to USA.today, a citizen named Joseph Brody was charged on numerous accounts during the attack. Prior to participating, he and other attackers hit up a pizza place to have some sustenance before destroying the world tomorrow. Brody and numerous others, including his friends, had entered House speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office and the floor of the senate chamber to destroy media equipment. Brody also began assaulting an enforcement officer leading to his arrest. This incident shows that even some people in our generation participate and encourage corrupt politics. It’s funny how we blame the old man but really, we are the old man. Beliefs get passed down no matter what, you could hate or love what the old man may preach.

The idea that our generation itself is at some fault for the January 6th attack is shocking. It feels as if it’s always viewed from one side. Generation Z blames the older generations for the problems they must endure now. However, the older generation does the same and blames the younger generation for new problems that seem to arise when they come around. If Political Party violence doesn’t stop, then history will repeat itself causing more violence in the future to Americans.
