Climate Change-An Issue Worth Our Time? Or Just Made Up Nonsense?
Climate change has been a front-page, never ending controversy since 1988 according to History.com. Since then, seven presidents have taken office and the argument of climate change hasn’t made any progress. The only part that’s new is how the government is trying to wave bolder claims and pushing harmful guidelines in Americans' faces.
According to NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), “2021 was the world’s 6th warmest year on record since 1880”. However, it's entirely possible this is all a government hoax acting as a cover for other real, more important, issues. Especially since another article from the NOAA states that, “Earth has experienced cold periods (or “ice ages”) and warm periods (“interglacials”) on roughly 100,000-year cycles for at least the last 1 million years”. This fact begs the question of how important this pesky climate change ‘issue’ actually is, and why government sources can't get their ideas straight.
An article from the Cornell Chronicle explains how a “2021 Gallup poll pointed to a deepening partisan divide in American politics on whether Earth’s rising observed temperatures since the Industrial Revolution were primarily caused by humans”. This quote shows the American people aren’t buying everything the government is selling them. Americans are finally beginning to catch onto the fact that the Earth has naturally changed temperatures since the beginning of time. This realization rightfully has many Americans questioning how much they should trust what scientists say. Scientists all throughout history have been wrong, so who says the scientists of today are any better?
Despite America's clear opinion, Joe Biden is still pushing the outrageous idea that “Climate change is literally an existential threat to our nation and to the world”. He announced his grand plan to waste 2.3 billion dollars on an issue that has been blown out of proportions at a climate change talk in Massachusetts. Other democratic leaders have also spoken out and joined the pointless fight against climate change over the years. They’re clearly attempting to scare Americans, but it won’t work. Nonetheless, Democrats are calling out Americans to change habits that have been fine for decades, but are suddenly now harming the Earth. The worst part is there’s no sign of stopping for the Democratic party. It appears that declaring their allegiance to the planet has attracted more vulnerable Americans to fall under the party's power.
Along with forcing Americans to change their perfectly fine routines, the supposed list of effects due to climate change appears to infinitely grow each year. At first, news stories covered how climate change meant summers would be a little warmer. Now, they’re telling stories about “Mediterranean moth diversity” and food at your local supermarket damaging the planet. These studies both boldly claim that unless humans clean up their act, the planet will continue to crumble.
The Mediterranean moth diversity article explains how an increase in temperature affects species of moths in the Mediterranean area through “increased mortality” and “a negative effect on moth species richness”. The article further explains how Moth’s are the most vulnerable in their larvae state because they don’t have much control over what happens to them. Therefore, summer larvae are burning in the heat and winter larvae are being attacked by parasites. Despite this article claiming climate change is responsible for all of these consequences, the article never once mentions that humans are the problem. This can be brought back to the point that the Earth is naturally changing on its own, and has nothing to do with humans. Diversity may be important, but it's useless for the government to point fingers at citizens and pass all the blame to them.
The other article, covering food systems, is convinced that completely dismantling a perfectly fine system for growing food is what’s going to instantly fix the Earth. First, this article talks about adapting to be greener for the environment and how certain methods could help decrease the amount of Greenhouse gasses produced. However, the moment the article is finished rambling about all this nonsense, it becomes a hypocrite. The article states how its grand plan will raise problems including, “unintended or hidden social justice consequences”, and calls on the government to put in place stricter laws. These laws will force perfectly functioning farms to follow new guidelines, which will waste farmer's time, money, and patience. If the guidelines were put in place, then farmers would need to work even harder just to reach the same outcome. Next time you go to the supermarket, be thankful for the food there, because the Democrats are trying to take everything away just to 'save' the Earth from a completely natural process.
In addition to everything covered so far, the overpowering government has been forcing ways to “help limit climate change” on Americans. These actions include, installing LED light bulbs, getting solar panels installed, and using alternative modes of transportation other than a car. All of these suggestions show the government doesn't care where Americans' hard earned money is going. The government wants to give people a way to waste as much money as possible either by throwing it at large companies that don't care about Americans or in raising taxes to increase the amount of useless public transportation. These suggestions attack the freedom of the average Americans to buy and go wherever they what whenever they want. Americans shouldn't have to listen to pointless government guidelines that won't do anything for the Earth and will only be a pain to every hard-working American. The government needs to stop waving around nonsensical claims and harmful guidelines in regards to the natural process of climate change and focus on the real issues at hand.
